Why the capsized clipper in the middle of this quilt? It is to remind us that our children will turn their life upside down once in a while and it is our job to set them right side up and set them sailing a smooth course again.
This baby/youth quilt is a quick and fun pattern to sew. Techniques for fast half-square triangles are included. Dress up the boats with appliqued stars, ric rac for waves and buttons for a fun twist! Made up in muted or bright fabrics, this quilt will be a boys favorite. Clipper ships or pirate ships..Ahoy Matey!
Using the Cricut Expression by Provo Craft and Novelty, Inc. for quilting applique is a fun concept. It will expand your options for applique design, especially if you are not artistic in the drawing realm! This blog is dedicated, so far, to quilting and sewing with the Cricut. When I showed the first quilt I made with the Cricut to a friend, (Countdown til Christmas Advent), she said, "That's so cute!" Thus the name of this business. Hope you enjoy!!
If you are interested in ordering, contact me at my email and I will respond. Gayle Lambert lambert1253@msn.com. Thank you!

Life Needs Frosting--New Release!!
Suggested Retail Price: $14.00 Size 64x77
I saw this quote on the top of a Cinnabon box and had to make a quilt around it. All applique patterns come in full size and can be used as traditional applique and/or cut with a Cricut Expression. All patterns include step by step instructions on how to use this machine for time-saving techniques, but keep in mind that good-old traditional applique can be used as well...as a matter fact, the quilt pictured was done with hand applique. This quilt can make good use of scraps as the Cutting Requirements for Applique Blocks section tells you exactly how big each scrap needs to be before cutting! No specific fabric line is used here, it's a great one to use up those colorful scraps!
